Omega Constellation Series Launches Sedna Watch

Sedna ™ Gold is a new alloy named by Omega. It is made of three metal elements: gold, copper and palladium. This is an 18K rose gold with a minimum gold content of 75%. The unique rose-red color of Sedna ™ gold benefits in part from the proper proportion of copper, while palladium ensures that the reddish color of Sedna ™ gold is eternal and lasting. The new alloy is named after the Neptune celestial body known to astronomers as Sedna, and the asteroid Sedna is considered to be one of the reddest objects in the solar system. In addition, Sedna is also the name of an Inuit legend of a goddess living on the bottom of the Arctic Ocean.

The Swatch Group has formed a team of top metallurgists and scientists from multiple companies dedicated to creating beautiful and durable 18K rose gold alloys. Sedna ™ Gold is their masterpiece of success. It is entirely developed and patented by the Swatch Group.

The Omega Constellation Sedna is the first watch made of 18K Sedna ™ gold. This limited edition watch combines the timeless beauty of a legendary watch series with the first innovative materials. The patented alloy 18K Sedna ™ gold, fused with gold, copper and palladium, guarantees a timeless and lasting rose gold color unique to the case. The hour markers, hands and buckle are also made of 18K Sedna ™ gold.

The polished case, frosted bezel and striking Roman numeral hour markers in the same color make up this unique timepiece. The luxurious silver “pie dial” draws inspiration from the first constellation in 1952, and the strap is made of premium brown leather. The watch is equipped with Omega’s innovative Si14 silicon balance spring and the revolutionary Omega 8501 coaxial movement, which is clearly visible through the sapphire back. The Omega Constellation Sedna is water resistant to 10 atmospheres (100 meters / 330 feet).

Omega Constellation Sedna watches are limited to 1,952 pieces, in commemoration of the birth of Omega’s famous Constellation watches in 1952. The watch is carried in a special wooden gift box with a rose lining and is guaranteed for up to 4 years.
