Following the proud history of serving as the Olympic timekeeper, the famous Swiss watch brand Omega looks forward to playing an important role in the 2018 Pingchang Winter Olympics. To celebrate the countdown to the second anniversary, Omega launched a uniquely designed and highly collectible watch. This seahorse Aqua Terra ‘PyeongChang 2018’ limited watch is based on the existing Aqua Terra 150m watch series, which includes technological innovations and aesthetic achievements, and focuses on grand sports events.
The most significant difference of this watch is the addition of the event name. On the blue PVD disk track minute circle, ‘PYEONGCHANG 2018′ (Pyeongchang 2018) is carved with five colors of the iconic Olympic ring. What is even more amazing is that the numbers ’20’ and ’18’ perfectly match the corresponding minute scale, which is a rare coincidence.
The transparent sapphire crystal case back is decorated with the official logo of ‘Olympic Games PyeongChang 2018’ (Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games 2018). The side of the case is engraved with one of the unique limited number of 2018 pieces.
Design and innovation
The watch is 41 mm in diameter, the case and bracelet are made of stainless steel, the dial is decorated with the typical “Teak Concept” texture of Aqua Terra, and it is equipped with an 8500 “Zhenzhen coaxial” movement. The watch will be sold together with an exquisite Olympic-themed box, which is said to cost 47,000 yuan.
