The fourth Only Watch charity auction will officially open during the Monaco Yacht Show on September 22. Prior to this, 38 high-end watch brands from around the world will launch a global tour at the end of August. Glashütte Original donated a red gold, black plate, German Observatory-certified watch for this auction to support charity.
German Observatory certified watch is one of Glashütte’s most representative watches. Equipped with the self-made caliber 58. Cal-01 by Glashütte, which ensures that the minute and second hands are precisely synchronized. The stop-second / reset mechanism allows the wearer to easily adjust the time: pulling the crown stops the time running, the second hand jumps back and maintains the initial position, and the minute hand moves to the next minute mark. When you turn the crown to adjust the time, the minute hand does move in accordance with the minute scale: this mechanism ensures that the minute hand and second hand are in the correct position. The large calendar at 3 o’clock on the dial shows the number ‘1/1’ engraved on the left, and the word ‘One of a kind’ on the case represents the only special for the Only Watch charity auction.
腕表 The classic dial of this watch is a reminiscent of the characteristics of a pocket watch. The small seconds ring and power reserve indicator on the dial are located at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock respectively. Glashütte’s unique large calendar window is located at 3 o’clock. The date dial can be switched instantly at exactly midnight. The polished rose gold minute hand and pear-shaped hour hand stand out more on the black dial. Emphasizing attention to detail, these pointers are decorated by hand. The embossed railway pattern surrounds this watch in harmony, and the Roman numerals add a classic touch.
The anti-glare sapphire crystal case back sees the carefully modified movement Cal.58-01, featuring Glashütte watchmaking features: three-quarter splint, gold-plated base, and hand-carved balance bridge. Special mention is the newly developed transmission gear that controls the power reserve display. This elegant piece can run for 45 hours.
